Teacher Leadership

Develop your leadership capacity and expand your impact on your students, your colleagues, and education across the state.

Cultivating Leaders

Teacher leadership is no longer optional.

Every Arizona educator has the capacity to develop their leadership and expand their impact on students, their colleagues, and education across the state.

Teacher leaders know that leadership is rooted in reflection, regardless of years of experience or the current role they are hold.

They embrace their voice, their care for their students, colleagues, and the profession, and their ability to learn and drive action.

Our Approach

The three elements of our teacher leadership program work to teach, develop, and Impact educators wherever they are in their teacher leadership journey and provide them tools to advance this aspect of their practice. We root our approach to teacher leadership in the National Education Association’s Teacher Leadership Competencies.

This document outlines five competency areas for teacher leaders and illustrates the progression from an emerging teacher leader to a transforming teacher leader in each area.
