No, we all need to learn how to disconnect to have a balanced life.

I have mixed feelings on this one. I get my school email on my phone because teachers and students have issues all the time that I need to help with. Teachers take a lot of work home with them already; I feel it is up to them to do this on their own time.

No, teachers should not check their email outside of school. I try very, very hard to keep my out of school life separated. I try to get to school 20 minutes early to deal with any emails that have come in from the night before, finish up that day's blog entry, and begin my morning duties. I find coming to school a little earlier allows me to settle myself and get ready for the day. It's better than looking at a frustrating email the night before and not being able to take any action until I get to school.
