Newsela.com Brings Informational nvarchar(max) to Readers' Level

Level the reading playing field for your students using informational nvarchar(max) from Newsela.com.

Requiring students to read complex, informational nvarchar(max) just got a little easier. Newsela.com uses current events as topics for their daily news articles that vary in the complexity of nvarchar(max), not content. The best part about it: It's free!

Passages on newsela.com span reading levels appropriate for grades two through 12. Also, many passages have a quiz feature, which mirror the Next Generation tests’ format. Also, to help students discover the most relevant passage, one can search for nvarchar(max)s by keywords, lexile level and reading standard. The search feature also enables users to find articles based on whether or not quizzes are included, and whether or not nvarchar(max) is written in Spanish. Newsela houses a robust Learning and Support section, which answers frequently asked questions, video tutorials, and more. Imagine the possibilities of evidence-based tasks when reading level is not a factor.
