More from "Arizona English Learner Policy Updates with Kate Wright"

We hope you were as excited to hear about Kate Wright’s passion for English learning opportunities as our hosts were in this week’s episode of 3Ps in a Pod.

As you heard in the episode, Kate Wright is the Deputy Associate Superintendent of the Office of English Language Acquisition Services (OELAS) in the Arizona Department of Education. You can learn more about OELAS’ work and find English language data by visiting the OELAS website here. You may also enjoy hearing our January 2018 3Ps in a Pod episode with Kate Wright, which you can listen to through this link.

If you’re a newcomer to the world of English learning and English immersion, you may have heard a couple new acronyms. “SEI” is Structured English Immersion. “ELP” refers to English-Language Proficiency.

If you work with English learners or especially enjoyed this 3Ps episode, check out these additional stories and resources below:

In this episode, you also heard host Angelia share her excitement about how using Instructional Rounds can impact teaching. Registration for this year’s Introduction to Instructional Rounds series is closed, but watch for next year's events. Angelia also mentioned the Corwin Deep Equity by Design Institute coming to Phoenix in February. Learn about the event here and don’t forget that code “ARIZONAK12” will save you $25 on your registration!
