National Board: Coaching for Candidate Success

Are you a new National Board Certified Teacher looking for ways to support other educators pursuing Board certification? This four-day training will help you learn the skills needed to take your candidate support to the next level.

Through this series, you will learn how to use effective coaching strategies and have time to observe and practice those skills in action. You will learn how to produce independent thinking in National Board candidates so they are more apt to solve problems and work through complex intellectual tasks in an efficient and productive way. 

After the initial two days of training, participants will reconvene in the fall and winter to reflect on their growing skills and have an opportunity to participate in a monthly small group meeting to observe these skills in action and practice their own coaching skills.

Coaching for Candidate Success focuses on supporting National Board candidates, but the skills learned can be used in a variety of situations.
