Announcing a National Board STEM Cohort
The Arizona K12 Center is proud to announce a partnership with the Arizona STEM Acceleration Project to establish a National Board STEM Cohort for Arizona educators.
Any educators teaching or interested in STEM-related subjects can pursue National Board Certification alongside others teaching and working in STEM.
STEM experts and National Board Certified Teachers Misha Freeman and Mark Paulsen will guide cohort members through the National Board Certification process from pre-candidacy to the submission of the National Board components. Misha and Mark have deep resumes in Arizona education and a passion for quality teaching. Misha has been a National Board Certified Teacher, with a certificate in early adolescence math, since 2010 and is currently the senior learning strategist at BloomBoard. Mark achieved National Board Certification in 2013 with a certificate in early adolescence science and is currently the workplace development coordinator for SciTech Institute.
The National Board STEM Cohort will provide you with the following benefits:
- National Board Pre-Candidacy Class
- STEM-specific National Board monthly small group meetings
- Funding to cover all four National Board components
- Support events including National Board Kickoff and National Board Coaching Saturdays
If you are already a National Board Certification candidate pursuing a STEM-related certificate or tailoring your certificate to your teaching of STEM, you can also join this cohort. You will receive the same benefits listed above except for the pre-candidacy class.
