Arizona NBCT Network Annual Meeting

The Arizona NBCT Network is a space to empower, educate, and advocate for the diverse needs of our communities.

The purpose of the Arizona NBCT Network is to empower accomplished teachers who are dedicated to advocating for the continual growth and development of the teaching profession to positively impact student learning by:

• Taking action to inform education policies,
• Serving as the voice of students and colleagues,
• Providing support for initial and MOC candidates,
• Creating and leading Professional Growth Experiences, and
• Seeking funding to support the work of the Network and advocacy tracts.

We are excited to welcome Donna Davis, Senior Community Impact Manager, and Rich Nickel, President and CEO, from Education Forward AZ to help advance our understanding of productive advocacy work at a local and state level.

Our in-person annual meeting will expand the purpose of the Network through collaboration with one another to create advocacy tracts that are of specific interest and need for your practice and communities. These advocacy tracts have the potential to serve as a Professional Growth Experience for your Maintenance of Certification while leading other NBCTs in their growth and development.

Based on survey feedback and to meet the needs of the Arizona’s NBCTs, advocacy tracts we’d like to establish at the annual meeting may include:

• Increased base pay for Arizona NBCTs
• Communication (Social media, website development)
• Support: Initial candidates, MOC candidates, CSPs
• Funding sources to support local hubs and advocacy tracts
• Storytelling (featured on created blogs, websites, podcasts)
• Recruit a diversity of teachers to pursue certification
• Events to promote connection amongst NBCTs
• Professional growth needs (adult learning, connection, book studies)
• Other advocacy tracts members would like to organize

The Arizona NBCT Network Annual Meeting is open to all NBCTs in Arizona. If you are an Arizona NBCT, you are a member of the Network.
