While teaching is an extremely rewarding career, it is not without its difficult and challenging moments. As a beginning teacher, the challenges can be even greater. The Beginning Teacher Institute is designed for beginning teachers who are in their first three years of teaching. The focus of this institute is to help beginning teachers prepare and meet the everyday challenges in the field.

This year’s institute will include hands-on, interactive sessions facilitated by Arizona Master Teachers and National Board Certified Teachers. These dynamic breakout sessions will focus on technology, classroom management, ELL strategies, College and Career Ready Literacy Standards, College and Career Ready Mathematics Standards, differentiated instruction, and more.

Cooperative learning strategies and Kagan Structures will not only be a highlight of this year’s event, but they will accelerate learning, are rooted in educational psychology, and support brain-based teaching. These strategies will help educators teach, communicate, motivate, and facilitate thinking more effectively with students in the classroom. In this practical, energetic, and dynamic session, teachers will both hear and experience brain-based teaching techniques so you can use capture students’ attention and keep them engaged in learning throughout the year.

Our keynote this year will be delivered by Kayla Delzer, a third grade teacher, CEO of Top Dog Teaching, Inc., author, and flexible seating pioneer. Kayla will engage you in stories about relationships, environments and the importance of these in supporting you as you build your successful classroom and teaching practice.

This Beginning Teacher Institute is must! Mark your calendars for this event. It is sure to be an integral part of your professional learning plan for the upcoming school year.
